Homemade Playdough
We have been making play dough for a long time. Probably ever since my oldest was old enough to play with it, so around 6 years of play dough making. We have made a lot of play dough and tried a lot of recipes. This one is definitely the most consistent, fastest and easiest to make.
Let's get right to it!
Playdough Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Cup of Flour
1/3 Cup of Salt
2 Teaspoons of Cream of Tartar
1 Tablespoon of Oil (I used coconut oil because I love the smell)
1 Cup of Water
Food Coloring (as much as needed to achieve desired color)
(Optional 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil)
Directions:
-Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar, oil, water, and food coloring together in a saucepan.
-Heat over medium high heat for around 2 minutes.
-When it forms a dough and clumps around the spoon it is done.
-Knead the dough to finish mixing and have fun! Careful it's hot!
-It will leave behind a coating on your pot which is easily removed with soaking and scrubbing.
